Mission:
Empowering the Brave: Transforming Lives through Woodturning
At the heart of the San Diego Woodturners (SDWT) Mission lies a dedicated commitment to service and skill-building. In alignment with this vision, the Turn Around for Veterans (TAV) program emerges as a beacon of support for our active-duty service members and veterans.
Our mission is clear: To impart the therapeutic art of woodturning to those who have selflessly served our nation. Operating in partnership with esteemed institutions such as the Naval Medical Center (NMC) San Diego, the Wounded Warrior Battalion at Camp Pendleton, the Veterans Affairs Aspire Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program in San Diego, and VA Hospital La Jolla TAV is a transformative force.
Through the craft of woodturning, we strive to instill not just technical proficiency, but a sense of empowerment, purpose, and camaraderie among our military community. At the intersection of craftsmanship and healing, TAV stands as a testament to the belief that the power of turning wood can turn lives around.
Join us in honoring and supporting those who have stood on the front lines. Together, we carve a path towards a brighter, more resilient future for our veterans, one lathe turn at a time.
